The winner of this year’s contest is the Railway Inn in Ketton following their success as Pub Of The Season in 2019
The Pub has 4 hand pumps, usually Grainstore and Oakham but guest beers from Bakers Dozen have made a good showing. They also offer an interesting range of Gins
Landlord and Landlady, Jamie and Linda Betts, are building the 19th century Pub into a real community hub with dominos, darts and pool featuring.
On a Monday evening from 5pm a chip van pulls up and customers are welcome to eat their fish and chips inside the Pub. Quiz nights Thursday are popular and an open mic’ night every 3rd Wednesday attracts local talent.
Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 5 to 11, Friday 5 to 12, Saturday Noon to 12 and Sunday 12 to 9pm. Their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/TheRailwayInnKetton. The Pub itself is not huge but cosy and a warm welcome awaits. There’s a small patio garden at the back of the Pub. With open fires, a great dog, and good beer what more do you need?
